The long national nightmare is over!

Dad finished Twlight tonight. Hoo boy, he didn't like it. He has never disliked a main character as much in his life. Condescending, whiny, unaware of things happening around her--yeah, it is totally understandable how every boy in Forks would want to date her. Yeesh! Edward would be considered a stalker or bully, if he weren't "angelic" or "perfect." And Stephanie Meyer should invest in a good thesaurus.

You may wonder, if he hated it so much, why did Dad read it? Dad does not want to dismiss things completely out of hand. If he has experienced it, then he can, in good conscience, argue its relative demerits. He can't do that if he dismisses it out of hand.

Now, Dad's going to move on to Casino Royale (James Bond Novels) since he found it. He's hoping it is going to be more fun. It certainly can't be as bad.
